SwiftKey awarded Best Consumer App and Appsters Champion 2013!

23rd October 2013

We’re delighted to announce that SwiftKey did the double and picked up both the Best Consumer App Award and the ultimate prize Appsters Champion 2013 at last night’s Appsters Awards! The awards ceremony, which took place at Kensington Roof Gardens in London, is an annual event that celebrates the most enterprising and innovative apps across the industry.

The Appsters honour those at the very top of what they claim to be “one of the fastest growing tech sectors on the planet”. 2013 is only the second outing for the Appsters Awards which is particularly impressive given the prestige they have for entrepreneurs and app companies alike.

This year we were competing against such illustrious companies as SkyScanner, British Gas and BBC Weather for the Best Consumer App 2013 title. We’re also particularly pleased to be recognized as overall Appsters Champion as this accolade is based on the highest number of aggregated points from across the winners of each category.

The twelve category winners included an impressive array of diverse and innovative apps such as black cab app Hailo, events and ‘going out’ app YPlan and BBCiPlayer.

The judging panel for the event was made up of industry experts Grant Allen, Principal Architect at Google, Kevin Flowers, CTO at Coca-Cola Enterprises and Martin Bryant at The Next Web among others, all of whom were selected for their “expertise and impartiality”. The 2013 awards marks the second consecutive triumph for SwiftKey at the Appsters after we were awarded Best Enterprise App for SwiftKey Healthcare in 2012.

We’re very proud to be adding our brand new Appsters trophies to our ever growing collection 🙂

Cheers

Sarah
