SwiftKey completes Series B investment round

4th September 2013

Hi everyone,

We have an exciting announcement to share with you – we’ve completed a “series B” investment round worth $17.5m (£11.3m), which was led by Index Ventures alongside our existing investors Octopus Investments and a number of notable angels.

The funding, which comes alongside the revenue we make from app stores and licensing deals, will help us speed up our product roadmap and fuel our expansion globally, particularly in the US and Asia.

This is a significant milestone for us as a business and comes after another successful 12 months for the company – our staff numbers have tripled in size, we’ve signed some amazing deals with world-renowned manufacturers and we’ve retained our position as Android’s best-selling paid app!

Index Ventures’ Martin Mignot has posted a blog on their site explaining why they’re investing in SwiftKey. If you’re a journalist or blogger, or you simply want to read more information about the finance round, you can also find out more on our press release page.

Thanks to all our users for your ongoing support,

Jon, Ben and the SwiftKey team

Please include chinese language as promise since two years back.

Hi Connie, we’re working on Chinese language support and we’ll let everyone know as soon as it’s ready. Thanks for your patience – I understand you’re keen to get your hands on it.

So with all that money, do you think you might have the budget to add a checkbox to disable auto-space after periods?

Otherwise might need to let your investors know they put money into a firm that has absolutely no considerations for its customers. You can only swindle them out of 4 bucks without adding the features they want for so long, excited to see how long that is for you good luck.

I found that SwiftKey is not in the list of UKBA job visa (Tier-2) sponsorship provider. I am a chinese student and would like to join in your team to develop SwiftKey for Chinese ! Any effort taken on this ?
